Donnelly College has partnered with Park University and Emporia State University to offer a teacher education program where you can earn a Bachelor of Science in Education.  At Park you can become certified to teach at the elementary, middle, or secondary level. At Emporia State you can become certified to teach at the elementary level.

At Donnelly College you will take your general education courses and five of your pre-requisite courses needed to apply for admission to the teacher education program of your choice.  Your advisors at Donnelly will support you in preparing for the admission and transfer process.

The classroom experience at Donnelly is very supportive due to the small class sizes and individualized support from instructors. There are also many free student services on campus to support you in your academic, social, and career goals. In addition, your advisors will guide you every step of the way towards the admissions and transfer process to the teacher education program of your choice. The program is completed after 2 years at Donnelly followed by 2 years at a partner institution.

Program Semesters/Steps Overview

  • Year 1

    Students take general education courses and teacher education pre-requisite courses.

  • Year 2

    Students take general education courses and teacher education pre-requisite courses.

  • Years 3 & 4

    Students transfer to either Park University or Emporia State University—Kansas City campus (classes for Emporia State are taught at JCCC by faculty from ESU).
