I am fueled by the strength and growth of the students, families and staff of Lee's Summit R7 School District. LSR7 is not just a workplace; it is my home. It’s a place where I feel safe, empowered and valued to be myself and share a part of who I am with those around me. I am continually offered opportunities to grow and learn as a professional and individual. The relationships built within the district are sincere and heartwarming.

Why I Teach

I believe to my core that all people want to learn—the natural desire is there. As people, we want to learn to read, write, cook, play an instrument, paint, dance, etc. It is part of our journey. I choose to teach because I have the wonderful opportunity to go on a journey of learning with a student (and often their family). It is my job to find the ways that ignite them as a learner to grow. The opportunity that I can be a part of empowering and encouraging those I work with (students, families and staff) to be their best selves is what gets me up in the morning. My words, actions and reactions all have power in doing this. I feel blessed to love what I do for a living and to continue to learn from those around me.
