4. Teacher training comes with financial aid 💸

Financial aid

If you’re concerned about costs, there’s good news: You have scholarship opportunities and financial aid options for your teacher training, including a $1,000 scholarship straight from us. Future Kansas City teachers can also get reimbursed for program application and testing fees.

If you end up taking loans, Uncle Sam offers several programs that pay back loans and even cancel debt for teachers. (Yes, we said cancel.)

5. There are SO MANY jobs 🤯

Many jobs

Right now, teachers are in high demand. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects “nearly 1.9 million job openings for teachers” nationwide by 2020. That translates to about 2,000 new teacher positions each year in the Kansas City area.

If you choose a teacher shortage area in Kansas or Missouri, you’ll have even more job opportunities. The faster you get started on your program the faster you’ll find that j.o.b.

6. You’ll get a full compensation package 😲

Compensation package

Teachers in Kansas City earn more than a paycheck. In addition to an average salary around $55,000 for a 185-day teaching contract, you can earn more by teaching in hard to staff subjects or by earning a master’s degree.

Of course, you’ll also get health and dental insurance. (And did you know about the retirement, housing assistance and retail discounts?)  Hear it from a teacher yourself.
